A hospital has taken down a\u00a0plaque unveiled by Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor commemorating its opening.<\/p>\n

The ex-prince took part in a ceremony at Chase Farm Hospital, part of London<\/a>\u2019s Royal Free NHS<\/a> Foundation Trust, in 2019, where\u00a0a memorial tablet was unveiled by the then-Duke of York.<\/p>\n

However, after King Charles<\/a> stripped his younger brother of his prince and Duke of York title, the NHS Trust has decided to remove the plaque.<\/p>\n

Andrew had tainted the reputation of the royal family<\/a> over his association with Jeffry Epstein and, for many years, has been dogged by allegations he sexually abused Virginia Giuffre<\/a> after she was trafficked by the financier.\u00a0He has strenuously denied the allegations.<\/p>\n

A spokesperson for the NHS Trust said: ‘Following the events of recent days and the changes to his status, the plaque at Chase Farm Hospital is being taken down.\u00a0<\/p>\n

‘Andrew Mountbatten Windsor was removed as patron of the Royal Free London in 2022 and has had no association with our trust since then.’<\/p>\n

While opening the hospital, Andrew said:\u00a0 ‘It is a huge pleasure to be here today, particularly as I am patron of the Royal Free London, and I am amazed at the speed at which this new hospital has been built.\u00a0<\/p>\n

‘Hospitals are about increasing the likelihood of better patient outcomes and patient healthcare, and today I have been around this new hospital, met some of your staff, and it is clear that that intent is being delivered.’<\/p>\n

In 2022, a plaque at Belfast City Hospital that was unveiled by Andrew was removed without permission, sparking an investigation by health officials.<\/p>\n

The plaque went missing shortly after the Duke was stripped of his military titles and royal patronages.<\/p>\n

The Belfast Health and Social Care Trust said in a statement last year that no decision had been made on reinstating the plaque.<\/p>\n

While, last month, his flag inside Windsor Castle’s chapel was taken down.<\/p>\n

Tthe flag, also known as a banner, bearing Andrew’s coat of arms previously hung above his stall.<\/p>\n

Each member of the Order of the Garter \u2013 Britain’s most senior order of chivalry \u2013 has a stall in the chapel, where their banner, helmet, crest and sword are displayed.<\/p>\n

The removal of the plaque at Chase Farm Hospital comes as another humiliating blow for Andrew, who has also been ordered to move from his Windsor residence, the Royal Lodge.<\/p>\n

On October 30, King Charles formally stripped Andrew of his prince title in an official statement, noting he will be known as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The monarch confirmed he had agreed to surrender his lease on the 30-room Royal Lodge, where he has paid ‘peppercorn rent’ for decades.<\/p>\n

He will relocate to a private home on the King’s Sandringham Estate in Norfolk.<\/p>\n

Andrew’s ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, will make her own living arrangements after moving out of the royal grounds of Windsor Castle.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The move was entirely down to the King and his advisers, without pressure from the government or other family members, such as Prince William, sources told the Daily Mail.<\/p>\n

Notice was not served on Prince Andrew to move. It was his lease, so it was up to the former Duke of York to serve notice himself, suggesting that he is not fighting the process.<\/p>\n

The former duke has lived at the Grade II-listed mansion on the grounds of Windsor Castle for over two decades with Fergie, despite their divorce in 1996.<\/p>\n

On Sunday, Defence Secretary John Healey confirmed Andrew will be stripped of his honorary rank of vice-admiral, which he was awarded on his 55th birthday in 2015<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The rank is his last remaining honorary military title since he handed back the others in 2022 over the Epstein scandal.<\/p>\n

The unprecedented statement from Buckingham Palace read: ‘His Majesty has today initiated a formal process to remove the style, titles and honours of Prince Andrew.<\/p>\n

‘Prince Andrew will now be known as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor. His lease on Royal Lodge has, to date, provided him with legal protection to continue in residence.<\/p>\n

‘Formal notice has now been served to surrender the lease and he will move to alternative private accommodation.<\/p>\n

‘These censures are deemed necessary, notwithstanding the fact that he continues to deny the allegations against him.<\/p>\n
