To the surprise of many, the NFL trade deadline came and went without the Buffalo Bills<\/a> making a trade. NFL insider Dianna Russini<\/a> reported that Buffalo was interested in Las Vegas Raiders<\/a> wide receiver Jakobi Meyers and New Orleans Saints<\/a> receiver Chris Olave.<\/p>\n

Obviously, neither ended up in a Bills uniform. Meyers was dealt to the Jacksonville Jaguars<\/a> and Olave stayed put in New Orleans while his teammate, Rashid Shaheed, was dealt to the Seattle Seahawks<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Buffalo general manager Brandon Beane spoke to the media, and expressed the same frustration that Bills fans have over a deal not getting done to bring a new player to the Bills.<\/p>\n

“I went home mad as any other fan,” Beane said via Katherine Fitzgerald<\/a>. “I wanted to do things, I always want to make this team better.”<\/p>\n

Beane added that “it takes two” in terms of teams needing to come together to make a trade, and that he can’t force a team to trade him a player. The Bills GM also noted that he has confidence in the group the Bills have.<\/p>\n

“I also believe in our roster too. … I do believe we can win a championship with this roster.”<\/p>\n

Buffalo has been to two AFC Championship Games over the last five years, falling both times to the Kansas City Chiefs<\/a>.<\/p>\n
