As another day of rivetting Formula 1<\/a> news comes to an end, GPblog brings you the only F1<\/a> round up you’ll ever need, F1 Today!Ralf Schumacher<\/a> has commented on Oscar Piastri<\/a>\u2019s alleged uncertain situation at McLaren<\/a>, suggesting that if trust between the Australian driver and the team has broken down, a departure could follow.<\/p>\n

Speaking on the Backstage Boxengasse podcast, Schumacher said that once trust is lost between a driver and a team, \u201cconsequences need to follow,\u201d and parting ways might be the best option.<\/p>\n

He also noted that Piastri has faced heavy criticism and online backlash in recent weeks, which could influence his decision.<\/p>\n

Schumacher went on to say that Aston Martin could represent a realistic next step for Piastri, claiming that talks, he understands, are \u201calready happening.\u201d He said the British outfit is \u201curgently looking for a change around 2026 or after 2026,\u201d mentioning both Piastri and Ferrari\u2019s Charles Leclerc as potential candidates for the team\u2019s future line-up.<\/p>\n

With Max Verstappen<\/a> rapidly closing the gap in the 2025 championship fight<\/a>, McLaren leaders Andrea Stella<\/a> and Zak Brown<\/a> have addressed how they would react if the Red Bull driver managed to overtake their pair of title contenders, Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri.<\/p>\n

Verstappen has reduced his deficit from 104 points to just 36 over five race weekends, putting himself in contention for a historic comeback.<\/p>\n

Speaking on the Beyond the Grid podcast, Stella said that if Verstappen wins, the team would take pride in knowing they gave their best effort, vowing to come back stronger next year.<\/p>\n

Brown added that if they were to lose, he would \u201cshake [Verstappen\u2019s] hand and say \u2018job well done\u2019,\u201d emphasizing that McLaren\u2019s focus is on competing fairly, not playing favourites.<\/p>\n

Referring to the team\u2019s infamous 2007 title loss, Brown said McLaren will not impose team orders, declaring, \u201cWe\u2019re racers. We\u2019re going racing.\u201d<\/p>\n
