In total, he raced two times in 2025, including a third-place finish at the Daytona 500 in February.<\/p>\n<p>Johnson, a seven-time NASCAR Cup champion, declared on X that he will be making the return only because he has always wanted to race in San Diego.<\/p>\n<p>The Southern California native said he had always &#8220;dreamed of racing in San Diego.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>He will finally get that opportunity.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Growing up in El Cajon, I dreamed about racing in <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/SanDiego?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">#SanDiego<\/a> one day, but I never imagined it would actually happen.
