Emmerdale’s Robert Sugden faces a dramatic wedding day tonight, as he’s torn between his prison husband Kev Townsend<\/a> and soul mate Aaron Dingle. With so much at stake, which way will he go?<\/p>\n

Robert has become hell-bent on keeping Kev happy \u2013 even at Aaron’s expense \u2013 after hearing that his other half is terminally ill<\/a>. As Robert is due to receive a \u00a3250,000 inheritance payout once Kev passes away, he believes that a few more months spent with him is a good deal to set up his longer-term future with Aaron.<\/p>\n

In tonight’s episode, though, Robert’s cash-focused stance is shattered as he sleeps with Aaron again, shortly before his planned ceremony with Kev. As Aaron has already given him a major ultimatum \u2013 it’s “game over” for them if he renews his wedding vows with Kev \u2013 Robert realises what he stands to lose.<\/p>\n

Robert and Aaron’s passionate reunion is the first big shock of the day, but another soon follows. After time to think things through, Aaron suddenly suggests that the wedding may not be such a bad idea after all.<\/p>\n

Finally coming round to Robert’s way of thinking, Aaron points out that Kev doesn’t have long left \u2013 so keeping a dying man happy isn’t such a big ask. Plus, there’s the appeal of that big financial payout\u2026<\/p>\n

Will Robert agree to go ahead with the wedding and sneak around with Aaron behind Kev’s back? Or is it time to go all-in with Aaron again? The episode is streaming early now on ITVX and YouTube and has the answer, ahead of the ITV1 broadcast at 7.30pm this evening.<\/p>\n

Show bosses also have another major twist for Robert, Aaron and Kev in the second half of the episode, which turns everything on its head\u2026<\/p>\n

Speaking recently<\/a> about the longer-term future, Ryan Hawley \u2013 who plays Robert \u2013 told Inside Soap<\/a>: “It’s not a very easy time for Aaron and Robert this December. The events leading up to Christmas and New Year into the Corriedale<\/a> special are very high stakes.<\/p>\n

“Robert’s state of mind around Christmas is panic, very anxious. There’s a threat to life this Christmas.”<\/p>\n
