The Broncos will square off with Bowling Green at 7:30 PM.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>LAST TIME OUT<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nWestern Michigan advanced to the MAC Championship, picking up a 1-0 victory over Ball State on Tuesday at the Historic Crew Stadium.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/wmubroncos.com\/sports\/womens-soccer\/roster\/abigail-baldridge\/15417\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"15417\" target=\"_blank\">Abigail Baldridge<\/a> scored the lone goal, while <a href=\"https:\/\/wmubroncos.com\/sports\/womens-soccer\/roster\/avery-peters\/15623\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"15623\" target=\"_blank\">Avery Peters<\/a> notched the assist on the play. <a href=\"https:\/\/wmubroncos.com\/sports\/womens-soccer\/roster\/reagan-sulaver\/15434\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"15434\" target=\"_blank\">Reagan Sulaver<\/a> posted her ninth shutout in net.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>RACKING UP THE AWARDS<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nThe Broncos were well represented on the MAC postseason awards list, which was released by the league office on Oct. 31.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/wmubroncos.com\/sports\/womens-soccer\/roster\/drew-martin\/15423\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"15423\" target=\"_blank\">Drew Martin<\/a> (Midfielder of the Year), <a href=\"https:\/\/wmubroncos.com\/sports\/womens-soccer\/roster\/mira-pierre-webster\/15428\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"15428\" target=\"_blank\">Mira Pierre-Webster<\/a> (Defensive Player of the Year), <a href=\"https:\/\/wmubroncos.com\/sports\/womens-soccer\/roster\/coaches\/lewis-robinson\/5004\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"5004\" target=\"_blank\">Lewis Robinson<\/a> (Coach of the Year) and <a href=\"https:\/\/wmubroncos.com\/sports\/womens-soccer\/roster\/reagan-sulaver\/15434\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"15434\" target=\"_blank\">Reagan Sulaver<\/a> (Freshman of the Year) all earned specialty awards.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Martin has 22 points on five goals and a MAC-leading 12 assists. Pierre-Webster and Sulaver spearheaded the best defense in the league, limiting opponents to just eight goals during MAC play. Robinson has guided the Brown and Gold to a 26-1-7 league record over the last three seasons.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Joining them on the All-MAC Teams were <a href=\"https:\/\/wmubroncos.com\/sports\/womens-soccer\/roster\/abby-smothers\/15622\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"15622\" target=\"_blank\">Abby Smothers<\/a> (First Team), <a href=\"https:\/\/wmubroncos.com\/sports\/womens-soccer\/roster\/madi-canada\/15420\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"15420\" target=\"_blank\">Madi Canada<\/a> (Second Team), <a href=\"https:\/\/wmubroncos.com\/sports\/womens-soccer\/roster\/avery-peters\/15623\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"15623\" target=\"_blank\">Avery Peters<\/a> (Second Team) and <a href=\"https:\/\/wmubroncos.com\/sports\/womens-soccer\/roster\/heidi-thomasma\/15430\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"15430\" target=\"_blank\">Heidi Thomasma<\/a> (Second Team).\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>BALANCED BRONCOS<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nThe Broncos have been the best offense in the MAC all season, thanks in large part to the depth in the lineup. <a href=\"https:\/\/wmubroncos.com\/sports\/womens-soccer\/roster\/abby-smothers\/15622\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"15622\" target=\"_blank\">Abby Smothers<\/a> (25) and <a href=\"https:\/\/wmubroncos.com\/sports\/womens-soccer\/roster\/drew-martin\/15423\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"15423\" target=\"_blank\">Drew Martin<\/a> (22) have started every game for WMU, combining for 15 goals and 17 assists.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Western Michigan has 16 players with at least one point this season and six have eight or more. That depth was on full display on Tuesday against Ball State, as <a href=\"https:\/\/wmubroncos.com\/sports\/womens-soccer\/roster\/abigail-baldridge\/15417\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"15417\" target=\"_blank\">Abigail Baldridge<\/a> tallied her first goal of the season to help the Brown and Gold pick up a 1-0 win.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>SCOUTING THE FALCONS<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nBowling Green snuck in as the No. 6 seed in the MAC Tournament, making a surprise run to the championship match. The Falcons are 2-0-3 in their last five outings, defeating Miami in PK&#8217;s in the semifinals earlier this week.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>WMU leads the all-time series, 18-11-4. The two teams have never met at a neutral site. Western Michigan and Bowling Green tied 1-1 earlier in the MAC season.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Emma Stransky has been the go-to option on offense, leading the team with 17 points on eight goals and one assist. Aiding the attack has been Gabby Lamparty, as she enters Friday&#8217;s match with three goals and three assists.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In net, Payton O&#8217;Malley has started all 21 games, boasting a 0.56 goals against average and .844 save percentage.
