Fan-favorite Bantamweight Adrian Yanez is off UFC Vegas 111<\/a> this weekend (Sat., Nov. 8, 2025), but he almost wasn\u2019t.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s because Yanez was offered a short-notice opponent after his original foe, Cristian Quinonez, withdrew from their fight earlier this week<\/a> (Tues., Nov. 4, 2025). However, Yanez says the bout didn\u2019t happen because his manager and coach didn\u2019t like the matchup.<\/p>\n

Yesterday, Contender Series Season 6, Week 8 veteran Allan Begosso posted on Instagram that he was offered the fight and expressed his frustration that Yanez turned it down. It\u2019s worth noting that MMAmania.com has confirmed Begosso was indeed offered to step in.<\/p>\n

\u201cAdrian Yanez, you should be ashamed to be fighting in the UFC and refusing to fight somebody who accepts the fight on two days\u2019 notice,\u201d Begosso wrote. \u201cIt just shows how much of bitch you are. I was ready to f\u2014k you up, I guess you knew it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Begosso (9-3-1) is a promising Brazilian prospect, though his career momentum has stalled since losing on Contender Series. He\u2019s struggled to stay active on the regional circuit, with four scheduled bouts falling through in the last year alone.<\/p>\n

Yanez fired back a few hours later, revealing that the decision to pass on the fight came from his team.<\/p>\n

\u201cManager and coach didn\u2019t want it,\u201d Yanez wrote. \u201cFor once, I\u2019m actually listening to them \u2014 even though I was telling them I wanted the fight. It\u2019s crazy because I was at the UFC PI all day, he was there. Could have said something to me then.\u201d<\/p>\n

While it\u2019s disappointing to see Yanez turn down a potential opponent \u2014 especially one who would\u2019ve been making his UFC debut \u2014 the decision is understandable. The Texan is coming off a controversial split-decision<\/a> loss and has dropped three of his last four fights after starting his UFC career with five straight wins, including four knockouts.<\/a><\/p>\n

Still, if Yanez doesn\u2019t get booked soon, it could mean a full year on the sidelines.<\/p>\n
