Marie News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>JOB SUMMARY<\/p>\n<p>Coordinate the implementation, administration, and day-to-day operation of the Student Nutrition Program throughout Algoma District, as per MCYS Program Guidelines; Coordinate and provide guidance for the Student Nutrition Programs to ensure adherence to MCYS Program Guidelines.<\/p>\n<p>MINIMUM EDUCATION<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\tB.A. or equivalent in human or health services&#13;<br \/>\n\tCommunity College diploma in human or health services field&#13;<\/p>\n<p>MINIMUM EXPERIENCE<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\t1-2 years\u2019 experience in program management and in the field of children\u2019s services or a related field.&#13;<br \/>\n\tThree or more years of program management experience may be considered.&#13;<\/p>\n<p>QUALIFICATIONS:<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\tThorough knowledge concerning proper nutrition and healthy eating practices, including the interpretation and use of Canada\u2019s Food Guide.&#13;<br \/>\n\tSafe food handling certificate required.&#13;<br \/>\n\tKnowledge of food safety and traceability protocols and practices, such as Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP).&#13;<br \/>\n\tAbility to work independently with a high level of confidence and creativity.&#13;<br \/>\n\tAbility to work collaboratively with a cross-section of community representatives including community advisory committees, schools, public health, and other stakeholder groups.&#13;<br \/>\n\tAbility to set priorities, manage multiple tasks, and work within tight reporting deadlines.&#13;<br \/>\n\tProven experience writing funding proposals, reports, and promotional materials.&#13;<br \/>\n\tStrong communication, negotiating, networking, planning, facilitation and community development\/ capacity-building skills.&#13;<br \/>\n\tAbility to deliver presentations to a variety of audiences.&#13;<br \/>\n\tKnowledge in administering grants and ensuring accountability.&#13;<br \/>\n\tKnowledge in database management and financial management.&#13;<br \/>\n\tProficiency with computers, especially Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and other\u00a0information management systems, including electronic preparation of statistical and financial spreadsheets, and promotional materials.&#13;<br \/>\n\tAbility to provide services in both official languages (English\/French) is an asset.&#13;<br \/>\n\tPossession of a valid Ontario Driver\u2019s License with the ability to travel within the District of Algoma.&#13;<br \/>\n\tAvailability to work flexible hours including evenings and occasional weekends.&#13;<br \/>\n\tFull COVID-19 vaccination&#13;<br \/>\n\tMust provide a clean Criminal Records Check.&#13;<\/p>\n<p>Duties and Responsibilities;<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\tCoordinate the implementation, administration, and day-to-day operation of the Student Nutrition Program throughout Algoma District, as per MCYS Program Guidelines; Coordinate and provide guidance for the Student Nutrition Programs to ensure adherence to MCYS Program Guidelines.&#13;<br \/>\n\tBuild relationships and be the contact for MCYS, schools\/school boards, corporate partners and community groups in Algoma District for the Student Nutrition Program.&#13;<br \/>\n\tEnsure programs are operated within established budgets and coordinate data collection for the preparation of required financial and progress reports for funders.&#13;<br \/>\n\tAnalyze program data evaluation information in order to make service recommendations.&#13;<br \/>\n\tNetwork and build partnerships\/sponsorships with businesses and community partners to support and enhance local community capacity for student nutrition programs.&#13;<br \/>\n\tAssist participating schools in identifying challenges and creating opportunities to build the necessary resources and capacity for sustainable, nutritious student nutrition programs, following the SNP Nutrition Guidelines.&#13;<br \/>\n\tAssist participating schools to access local nutritional and food preparation expertise as required.&#13;<br \/>\n\tAssist participating schools with volunteer recruitment, training, and monitoring.&#13;<br \/>\n\tAssist participating schools in fundraising, in conjunction with AFS and the AFS Foundation, to support the sustainability of the local programs.&#13;<br \/>\n\tProvide input into the development of proposals to support and enhance nutrition programs and services.&#13;<br \/>\n\tEstablish and implement an integrated marketing and communication plan to promote awareness of the program;&#13;<br \/>\n\tSupport the SNP Advisory Committee as required.&#13;<br \/>\n\tRepresent Algoma Family Services at regional and provincial meetings and working groups as required. Participate in relevant Student Nutrition Ontario discussion groups, committees and subcommittees as time permits.&#13;<br \/>\n\tAssume other responsibilities as assigned from time to time by the Lead Agency Project Manager.&#13;<\/p>\n<p>This position falls within the bargaining unit represented by the OPSEU.<\/p>\n<p>Algoma Family Services (AFS) is committed to equity in access to employment and is a diverse and inclusive workplace.
