While lots of New York\u2013based celebrities posted their support<\/a> of Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani<\/a> throughout the election, a smaller group threw their support behind Andrew Cuomo<\/a>. Among them were President Donald Trump, influencer Danielle Bernstein<\/a>, and Amy Schumer, who posted a selfie with her \u201cI Voted\u201d sticker in mid-October with the caption \u201cRhymes with duomo<\/a>.\u201d I doubt those first two are too happy with Mamdani\u2019s big win, but Schumer \u2014 who\u2019s made political appearances with her cousin, Senator Chuck Schumer, and frequently endorses Democratic candidates \u2014 may actually be coming around after Mamdani responded to an act of antisemitism.<\/p>\n On Wednesday, swastikas were found painted onto the exterior of a Jewish day school in Brooklyn. Mamdani \u2014 who repeatedly condemned antisemitism during his campaign amid criticism for his pro-Palestine stance \u2014 quickly responded,\u00a0 calling the incident\u00a0 a \u201cdisgusting and heartbreaking act of antisemitism\u201d that \u201chas no place in our beautiful city.\u201d\u00a0 \u201cAs Mayor, I will always stand steadfast with our Jewish neighbors to root the scourge of antisemitism out of our city,\u201d Mamdani wrote in a post<\/a> on X.<\/p>\n Schumer, who is Jewish and has been a vocal advocate for Israel (although she\u2019s said<\/a> she \u201c[doesn\u2019t] agree with anything that Netanyahu is doing\u201d), shared Mamdani\u2019s post to her Instagram Story on Thursday. \u201cSay what you want, this was the right message to send after a swastika was painted on an elementary school in Brooklyn the morning after he was elected Mayor,\u201d she wrote. \u201cThe Jewish community is looking forward to having your support, Mayor-Elect [Mamdani].\u201d The actress added that \u201ca united NYC is a stronger, better NYC.\u201d<\/p>\n It\u2019s nice to see her keeping an open mind about Mamdani, but I regret to inform you that other signs suggest Schumer is not currently of sound mind and body. An hour after posting that, she shared another Story declaring that\u00a0All\u2019s Fair, the new Kim Kardashian\u2013Ryan Murphy legal show about an all-female divorce firm, makes her feel\u00a0\u201chappy and empowered.\u201d In case you have not watched yet, there is nothing \u201cempowering\u201d about All\u2019s Fair, which includes a scene where Sarah Paulson\u2019s character calls Kardashian\u2019s character a \u201cpoor, discarded cum rag.\u201d (This is actually one of Paulson\u2019s more gentle insults.)
