Lewis Hamilton has sincerely apologised to Ferrari<\/a> following a qualifying<\/a> performance for the Belgian Grand Prix he has described as “unacceptable”.<\/p>\n

After being knocked out in the first session of sprint<\/a> qualifying at the Spa Francorchamps Circuit on Friday evening, for a moment it appeared as if the seven-time F1 champion had avoided a double shock with a Q1 exit for the grand prix.<\/p>\n

Max Verstappen called for Red Bull<\/a> to review his higher downforce setup, following a “weird” qualifying<\/a> at the Belgian Grand Prix.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In anticipation of heavy rain for the grand prix, the Milton Keynes-based outfit increased the downforce level on Verstappen’s RB21 after running a thin rear wing in the sprint<\/a> sessions.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Lando Norris secured pole position for the Belgian Grand Prix, courtesy of his opening lap in the final part of qualifying<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Briton set a 1m 40.562 to go 0.085s quicker than Oscar Piastri, whilst several surprises were present behind, including, Alex Albon in fifth.<\/p>\n

Max Verstappen scored Red Bull’s first victory in the post-Christian Horner era with victory in the Belgian Grand Prix Sprint race.<\/p>\n

From second on the grid<\/a>, Verstappen used his low-downforce rear-wing setting to slipstream past Piastri on the opening lap, swooping around the outside of the pole-sitter at Les Combes.<\/p>\n
