It\u2019s no secret that the Toronto Blue Jays captured the hearts of Canadian fans throughout the past month.<\/p>\n
But for those closest to the players, the highs and lows of the emotional rollercoaster of a wild postseason run were ramped up that much more.<\/p>\n
For the partners of the Blue Jays, several heartfelt posts were circling social media after Toronto\u2019s World Series defeat to the Los Angeles Dodgers in seven games.<\/p>\n
\u201cThank you to everyone who has supported us from the beginning, we are so grateful to have the opportunity to even be here and represent Canada\u2019s team,\u201d Kevin Gausman\u2019s wife, Taylor,\u00a0wrote on Instagram earlier this week<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cIt has been a beyond fun ride, and although I\u2019m sad it didn\u2019t turn out the way we wanted, it still doesn\u2019t take away how proud I am of what this team has accomplished this year. I can\u2019t wait to be back next year.\u201d<\/p>\n Max Scherzer\u2019s wife<\/a>, Erica, said the season in Toronto was the most impactful of their lives.<\/p>\n \u201cWhen Max signed with Toronto I had a feeling we would enjoy the experience. Playing for an entire country is truly special.\u201d<\/p>\n The Blue Jays opened the 2025 season far from a World Series favourite, but quickly meshed into one of the league\u2019s hardest-to-beat teams, as they claimed the AL East with a 94-win campaign before their postseason run.<\/p>\n \u201cEven if we hadn\u2019t made it this far, I would still be screaming how lucky we are to be here from the top of the CN Tower,\u201d Jeff Hoffman\u2019s wife, Marrisa, wrote<\/a>. \u201cThis organization is so special, Canada should be proud. Not just of the guys on the field but of everyone; from the elevator attendants, the family liaisons, social media team, the fan sitting next to you.\u201d<\/p>\n Starting their season unofficially way back at February\u2019s first spring training appearances, the players\u2019 families seemed to enjoy the extended season after missing out on the postseason in 2024.<\/p>\n \u201cThe highs, the late nights, the travel, the memories,\u201d\u00a0George Springer\u2019s wife, Charlise, shared<\/a>. \u201cThis group showed nothing but heart, humility and resilience from day one, and it was an honour to watch them chase this dream together,\u201d<\/p>\n And while the sting of their Game 7 loss will hurt for a while, the well-documented closeness of the Blue Jays\u2019 clubhouse seems to make things hurt just a tiny little bit less.<\/p>\n \u201cThis isn\u2019t the ending we hoped for, but wow, this team deserves everything,\u201d Brendon Little\u2019s wife, Emily, added<\/a>. \u201cNot just because they\u2019re absolute workhorses and incredible players, but because they\u2019re genuinely good people.
