The goaltender will not dress as his team takes on the Columbus Blue Jackets during\u00a0Hockey Night in Canada\u00a0(10 p.m. ET \/ 7 p.m. PT on Sportsnet Pacific and Sportsnet+).<\/p>\n
Demko, 29, did skate Saturday morning after being absent from practice on Friday.<\/p>\n
He is 5-4-0 this season with a .912 save percentage and a 2.57 goals-against average in nine starts. He last played Monday in Vancouver’s 5-4 overtime win against the Nashville Predators.<\/p>\n
Head coach Adam Foote said Friday that Demko is “taking care of himself” as a result of this season’s condensed schedule but did not indicate whether he is dealing with an injury.<\/p>\n
\u201cDemmer won\u2019t be playing tonight,\u201d Foote added. \u201cHe went out this morning, and he’s still doing his thing, preparing for next time he plays.”<\/p>\n
Demko missed much of last season due to a knee injury.
