{"id":270895,"date":"2025-11-08T23:02:10","date_gmt":"2025-11-08T23:02:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/270895\/"},"modified":"2025-11-08T23:02:10","modified_gmt":"2025-11-08T23:02:10","slug":"pga-tour-pro-makes-rare-octuple-bogey-12-at-world-wide-technology-championship","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/270895\/","title":{"rendered":"PGA Tour pro makes rare octuple-bogey 12 (!) at World Wide Technology Championship"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>PGA Tour member Luke List endured a nightmarish moment during the third round of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.golfmagic.com\/tour\/pga-tour\/world-wide-technology-championship-prize-money\" data-entity-type=\"node\" data-entity-uuid=\"ddc85c08-5213-4212-a7e7-d5bf2b8ae5bf\" data-entity-substitution=\"canonical\" title=\"World Wide Technology Championship prize money: How much they&#039;re playing for\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">World Wide Technology Championship<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>List began the day a respectable 10 strokes adrift of 36-hole leader Matti Schmid in the FedEx Cup Fall event.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Yet it did not take too long for the 40-year-old to tumble right down to the bottom of the leaderboard and be playing for pride only. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>List somehow managed to make an octuple-bogey 12 (!) at the par-four 15th at the Tiger Woods-designed El Cardonal at Diamante Cabo San Lucas.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Extraordinarily, it took two-time <a href=\"https:\/\/www.golfmagic.com\/tour\/pga-tour\" data-entity-type=\"taxonomy_term\" data-entity-uuid=\"0514d135-c0aa-4a5d-a5c8-f7197f44adc3\" data-entity-substitution=\"canonical\" title=\"PGA Tour\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">PGA Tour<\/a> winner 10 strokes to reach the green. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p> Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p> Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p>He began his round on the back nine and carded three pars in a row before dropping two shots on the 13th and 14th.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately there is no shot tracking at this PGA Tour event and, at the time of publication, is no video footage of List&#8217;s shocker.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The PGA Tour&#8217;s play-by-play function on their official website truly allows our imagination to run wild though:<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Shot 12<\/p>\n<p>From green, in the hole<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Just exceptional.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>CBS Sports contributor and golf stats man Rick Gehman noted it was the highest number of shots a player has taken to get the ball in the hole from the fairway going back seven years.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>List can rest safe in the knowledge that is not the highest score recorded on a single hole in an official PGA Tour event.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Dale Douglas took 19 strokes during the 1963 Bing Crosby National Pro-Am at Pebble Beach.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Highest scores in PGA Tour historyScorePlayerHole &amp;
