Lions owner Amar Doman questioned the Saskatchewan Roughrider\u2019s game-winning touchdown catch Saturday night so much so that he took to his Instagram feed about it.<\/p>\n Doman posted screen grabs on his reels of Tommy Nield\u2019s three-yard reception in the end zone with 0:11 remaining that provided the Roughriders the margin of victory in a 24-21 triumph in the CFL Western final that certainly suggest the ball hit the turf. The call on the field was a touchdown and the play was reviewed for several minutes by the CFL head office afterwards. They had a 21-17 lead with the ball with 2:35 remaining. Their offence went two-and-out. The Saskatchewan offence followed with their own two-and-out, giving B.C. the ball back with 1:40 left. The Lions went two-and-out again, sending the ball back to Saskatchewan with 1:03 showing on the clock. The Roughriders began that final drive on their own 34-yard line.<\/p>\n B.C. led the CFL in net offence (430.2 yards per game) and average yards per play (8.04) during the regular season. A single first down in those two series likely would have meant victory, and the team\u2019s first trip to the Grey Cup since winning the CFL\u2019s Big Dance at B.C. Place<\/a> in 2011.<\/p>\n The offence had marched the ball down the field in crunch time the week before, leading to Sean Whyte\u2019s 43-yard field goal for the walk-off win in a 33-30 decision over the Calgary Stampeders in the West semifinal at B.C. Place<\/a>. I don\u2019t even know what to say about it. I was so in awe. I couldn\u2019t even cry but my emotions were everywhere. I felt like I wanted to cry. I couldn\u2019t cry. I\u2019m super sad but I\u2019m more mad. There was just so much going on.\u201d<\/p>\n Lions coach Buck Pierce was asked about whether he had replayed the final three minutes and whether he would do something different if he had the chance.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019ve replayed it. He sounded intent on returning to the Lions at points Sunday, explaining that \u201cI\u2019ve been here my whole career. I love it here. Hopefully we can get some business done, but I\u2019ll let that take care of itself when we get there.\u201d<\/p>\n He has had contentious negotiations in his five years with the Lions, including being released for a period last year when he and the team couldn\u2019t agree on a restructuring of his contract. He\u2019s bounced back from a torn Achilles in the 2023 Western final.<\/p>\n \u201cI just want to get what I deserve,\u201d Hatcher said. \u201cI feel like I\u2019ve had a few solid years in this league and because of the injury it\u2019s taken a little time for me to be compensated for what I\u2019ve done on the field.
