Under brilliant afternoon sunshine and with a supportive crowd that included Mayor Wainwright McIntosh, fans were treated to intense competition and exciting finishes that kept them cheering throughout.

In the feature Open category, Mario Washington delivered a commanding performance to take top honors for the second consecutive year, completing all eight laps in fine style while claiming all six sprint prizes along the way. The victory capped a dominant showing from the defending champion Washington, who fended off challenges from veteran campaigner Junior Niles and Jaikarran Sukhai, who placed second and third respectively.

The event, which has quickly become a highlight of the Town Day celebrations, also saw competitive showings in several other categories. In the Veterans division, Franco Crawford emerged victorious ahead of George David, while the Junior category title went to the promising Sidwell Sandy. The Juvenile race saw Denish Sookhai crossing the line first, adding another memorable performance to his young career.

Unlock 1 week of unlimited access for just $5, or pick our top plan for only 30¢ a day!
