THUD! That\u2019s the sound of Jennifer Lopez\u2019s latest movie landing at the box office \u2014 but the bomb is an even bigger disaster for her ex-husband Ben Affleck and his partner Matt Damon, who financed it.<\/p>\n

Initial numbers reveal Kiss of the Spider Woman brought in a paltry $2 million on a $30 million budget.<\/p>\n

The anemic ticket sales have left 56-year-old J.Lo \u201cdeeply depressed\u201d after a string of duds, sources say, but it\u2019s got Ben, 53, and Matt, 55, vowing to move on from the fading diva, who still dreams of awards glory.<\/p>\n

\u201cAccording to Jennifer\u2019s camp, Kiss was a win. But the economics did not make sense and that\u2019s a big black eye for Ben, Matt and their Artists Equity studio,\u201d reveals an insider.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe project was put together back when Jennifer and Ben were a loving reunited couple, with big dreams about collaborating on films through his new company.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cMatt fully backed their vision, and he and Ben wrote a big check to get this movie going.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThese guys can\u2019t resist making vanity projects because some of their early hits like Dogma and Good Will Hunting were put together in the same way \u2014 driven by the lead actors and built around making them even bigger stars.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cBut it\u2019s long past time for them to get real and get this studio\u2019s product selling tickets.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jennifer, whose divorce from Affleck was finalized in January after a disastrous two-year marriage, also tanked with the 2024 biopic Unstoppable, which was backed by Ben. She notched another turkey with the musical drama This Is Me \u2026 Now: A Love Story and the accompanying documentary The Greatest Love Story Never Told.<\/p>\n

After the Unstoppable bust, Kiss of the Spider Woman \u201cis the second film financed by Ben and Matt that will underwhelm financially and they aren\u2019t looking to do a third.\u201d says a source.<\/p>\n

\u201cMatt and Ben both know they need to get out there and find material that can get people excited.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThey want a Twilight or Hunger Games\u2013style franchise to power their next chapter \u2014 not another attempt at trying to win Jennifer an Oscar.\u201d<\/p>\n
