Happily, the real-life Christy is now married to former rival Lisa Holewyne.<\/p>\n

However, Christy debuted this weekend to one of the worst box office<\/a> openings of all time for a release of its size, bringing in just $1.3 million. It’s the latest in a string of box office flops<\/a> for Sydney, which followed news that the actor has been registered as a Republican since 2024.\"A<\/p>\n

In fact, post-American Eagle controversy but before the movie’s premiere, Sydney was asked outright in an interview if she was worried people would skip Christy because of her beliefs on “certain issues.” Sydney replied<\/a>, “No. No, I think that if somebody is closed off because of something they read online to a powerful story like Christy, then I hope that something else can open their eyes to being open to art and being open to learning, and I\u2019m not going to be affected by that.”\"Two<\/p>\n
