After advancing past UAB and No. 3 Memphis to face and defeat Rice for the conference title, UTSA will travel to Lubbock, Texas, to face No. 6 seed Texas Tech (13-2-4) on Friday, Nov. 14.<\/p>\n<p>Under the direction of eighth-year head coach <a href=\"https:\/\/goutsa.com\/staff\/derek-pittman\" title=\"Derek Pittman\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Derek Pittman<\/a>, the Roadrunners earned their first American Conference Championships title over the weekend in Lakewood Ranch, Florida, notching the second conference crown with Pittman at the helm. The squad reached a 10-win season for the first time since 2022.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur group believed we were capable of this achievement all season long,\u201d Pittman said. \u201cEarning a spot in the NCAA Tournament is the result of their unselfish work, a shared vision and an unconditional commitment to improve every single day. Now, facing a tough opponent in Texas Tech, our mindset is simple: respect the moment, but don\u2019t be intimidated by the name. We will be prepared and we are here to compete to keep this historic season alive.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The TTU Red Raiders are 13-2-4 overall and went 7-1-3 in Big 12 Conference play for a fourth-place regular season league finish. Opening the Big 12 Tournament as the fourth seed, TTU was eliminated from the conference tournament on Nov. 3 by fifth-seeded Baylor via a 7-6 penalty shootout after drawing through regulation and overtime.<\/p>\n<p>The Roadrunners have previously won the conference tournament and reached the NCAA Championship as a conference automatic qualifier in 2022 (Conference USA Tournament Champion) and 2010 (Southland Conference Tournament Champion). In the most recent appearance, UTSA faced No. 2 seed TCU in the opening round in Fort Worth, Texas.<\/p>\n<p>The Roadrunners and Red Raiders will face off on Friday, Nov. 14 at 6 p.m. CT at the <a href=\"https:\/\/texastech.com\/facilities\/john-walker-soccer-complex\/6\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">John Walker Soccer Complex<\/a>. In the single-elimination format, the winner will advance to a second-round matchup on Nov. 20 against the winner between North Carolina and No. 3 seed Tennessee.<\/p>\n<p>Additional ticket, travel, broadcast and fan information will be made available to the public as it becomes available.
