The first half of Monday night’s game between the Philadelphia Eagles and Green Bay Packers wasn’t exactly an offensive showcase. <\/p>\n
Neither team scored in the first half as the two offenses struggled. Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts had just 48 yards on 7-of-13 passing, while Packers quarterback Jordan Love had 39 yards on 6-of-10 passing. <\/p>\n
It was the first time the NFL has had a scoreless first half since 2023, when there were two on the same day in December. <\/p>\n
NFL fans were not thrilled by the slow start, to say the least. <\/p>\n
While neither the Eagles nor the Packers has the best offense in the league this year, Philadelphia is averaging the 10th-most points per game (26) while Green Bay is putting up the 11th-most points per game (25.8), so it’s a bit surprising to see both squads be so stagnant through the early going. <\/p>\n
The low scoring offense might instead be a testament to their respective defenses. <\/p>\n
Regardless, both will look to put the slow start behind them and get a crucial win over a conference foe. <\/p>\n
The Eagles have split their last two games and came into Monday’s game at 6-2, sitting atop the NFC East. The Packers, meanwhile, are coming off a surprising upset loss to the Carolina Panthers, a game that also saw a rough offensive performance from Green Bay. Still, the Packers are in control in the NFC North at 5-2-1. <\/p>\n
Both squads have what it takes to reach the Super Bowl, so Monday’s game could be a preview of the NFC Championship.
