The actor, 64, spoke about his famous mullet on the Nov. 10 episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!<\/a>, as he discussed his breakout role in the 1980s sitcom The Facts of Life while promoting his new film Jay Kelly.<\/p>\n Host Jimmy Kimmel showed some photos of Clooney rocking a thick dark mullet on the show at the time, to which the actor enthusiastically responded, \u201cLook at that hair! That\u2019s a mullet, dude.\u201d<\/p>\n Kimmel, 57, then showed another photo of Clooney modeling the same hair alongside his sitcom costars Nancy McKeon, Lisa Whelchel and Mindy Cohn.<\/p>\n \u201cIf you notice, Nancy and I have the exact same haircut,\u201d said Clooney. \u201cYeah, you\u2019ve all got the same [haircut] \u2026 it\u2019s like there was one hair place in the \u201880s and everyone went to it,\u201d joked Kimmel.<\/p>\n \u201cThat\u2019s the early stages, later, it got longer in the back and shorter at the sides, as you do,\u201d explained Clooney.<\/p>\n When Kimmel asked the actor who gave him the mullet, Clooney responded, \u201cI don\u2019t know! It wasn’t my fault. Murrow’s 1954 expos\u00e9 on Senator Joseph McCarthy.<\/p>\n While attending the 78th Annual Tony Awards<\/a> in June, Clooney shared with PEOPLE his wife Amal<\/a>\u2019s reaction to his dramatic new look.<\/p>\n \u201cOh my wife [Amal] was the happiest person when I came home after the play<\/a> today and I’d cut all the hair off.
