Novak Djokovic has warned Jannik Sinner that his three-month doping ban<\/a> will hang over him like a \u201ccloud\u201d \u2013 and questioned the timing of the sanction last year.<\/p>\n

Sinner served a three-month ban in February 2025 after the World Anti-Doping Agency (Wada) accepted his explanation that a banned anabolic steroid, clostebol, entered his system accidentally.<\/p>\n

In an interview on Piers Morgan: Uncensored on YouTube, Djokovic said: \u201cThat cloud will follow him just as the cloud of Covid<\/a> will follow me, for the rest of his, or my career in this case.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s just something that, it was so major, and when that happens, over time it will fade, but I don\u2019t think it will disappear. There\u2019s always going to be a certain group of people that will always try to bring that forward.\u201d<\/p>\n

Djokovic said he believed that Sinner, a regular practice partner, \u201cdidn\u2019t do it on purpose\u201d, but he went on to question how the Italian managed to serve his time without missing a grand slam.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere is the lack of transparency, the inconsistency, the convenience [of] the ban coming between the slams, so he doesn\u2019t miss out the others \u2013 it\u2019s just it was very, very odd,\u201d added Djokovic.<\/p>\n
