Appearing on Believe You Me, Dean explained that officials intend to enforce existing rules and begin taking points proactively after the fallout from UFC 321\u2019s Tom Aspinall vs. Ciryl Gane no-contest.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe made a rule it\u2019s a foul to extend the fingers towards the eyes\u2026 that rule has been there, but we haven\u2019t been enforcing it,\u201d Dean said. \u201cWe should start taking points\u2026 before it actually happens to hurt somebody.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Dean noted the outsized impact of deductions in three-rounders.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have a one-point sport\u2026 most of the time the score is 29-28. You take one point, you\u2019ve taken a majority of wins and turned it into a draw.
