The Mavericks\u2019 Pegasus-themed City edition uniforms<\/a> have brought questions on if the team could be \u201cnearing a full redesign when it comes to its default uniform set\u201d after a quarter-century in navy blue and white, according to Mike Curtis of the DALLAS MORNING NEWS. Curtis reported that it is \u201cnot out of the realm of possibility.\u201d Mavericks VP\/Brand Identity Alison Pasanik \u201csees Nike\u2019s City Edition jerseys as an alternative method to keep an NBA team\u2019s brand fresh without going through a complete rebrand.\u201d The team completely overhauled their home and away uniform set during the 2001-02 season. While Pasanik says that the NBA \u201cprefers teams to stay within their brand identity for at least 15 years,\u201d the Mavericks could be \u201coverdue for one, especially given the team\u2019s recent changes<\/a>.\u201d As the franchise\u202fenters a new era, one removed from Basketball HOFer Dirk Nowitzki and now-Lakers G Luka Doncic<\/a> and \u201cheadlined\u201d by G Kyrie Irving, F Anthony Davis and F Cooper Flagg, the \u201cquestion of a rebrand could arise.\u201d Pasanik said, \u201cI think every brand identity person, our dream is to be able to go through a full rebrand with an organization.
