{"id":280584,"date":"2025-11-13T14:57:08","date_gmt":"2025-11-13T14:57:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/280584\/"},"modified":"2025-11-13T14:57:08","modified_gmt":"2025-11-13T14:57:08","slug":"24-hour-radiothon-in-support-of-daffodil-place-underway-on-vocm","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/280584\/","title":{"rendered":"24-Hour Radiothon in Support of Daffodil Place Underway on VOCM"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\t\t&#13;<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/nape-daffodil-place-radiothon-donation.jpg\" class=\"header-image\" alt=\"24-Hour Radiothon in Support of Daffodil Place Underway on VOCM\"\/><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-caption-text\">(VOCM News)<\/p>\n<p>VOCM and the Canadian Cancer Society are pulling an all-nighter in support of Daffodil Place.<\/p>\n<p>The initiative is known as the Home for the Night fundraiser \u2013  a 24-hour radiothon in support of the facility, which gives people who must travel to St. John\u2019s for cancer treatment a place to stay. <\/p>\n<p>The event began at 7:00 this morning, and will run until 7 a.m. tomorrow with all proceeds going towards supporting those  who have to stay at Daffodil Place. <\/p>\n<p>NAPE has made a significant contribution to the fundraiser, giving $30,000.<\/p>\n<p>Jerry Earle says not long after he became president of the union, he was asked if they would like to support Daffodil Place.
