But apparently, Max Stassi’s days as a professional baseball player is over. He’s transitioning into coaching.<\/p>\n

Stassi spent the 2025 season in the San Francisco Giants<\/a>‘ organization, although he was hurt for much of the campaign.<\/p>\n

In 2026, Stassi will be the catching coach for the Los Angeles Angels<\/a> of Anaheim, with the news reported by the Orange County Register<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Stassi is 34 and had a solid major league career.<\/p>\n

He was a fourth-round draft pick of the Oakland Athletics<\/a> who was then traded to the Houston Astros<\/a> before his MLB debut in 2013.<\/p>\n

Stassi played 163 games for the Astros, spread across seven seasons.<\/p>\n

The Angels traded for Stassi at the 2019 deadline. In 2021, he hit 13 home runs and slugged .426.<\/p>\n

Stassi signed a three-year contract extension going into 2022 but struggled at the dish.<\/p>\n

He hasn’t played in MLB since that 2022 season, when he batted .180.<\/p>\n

Stassi didn’t play in 2023 due to a hip injury and personal reasons.<\/p>\n

In 2024, Stassi was with the White Sox organization, before joining the Giants’ system in 2025.<\/p>\n

He finishes his MLB career as a .212 hitter with 41 home runs.<\/p>\n

He’ll be on the Angels staff with new manager Kurt Suzuki, who was his teammate when they both played for the Angels.<\/p>\n
