Donald Trump has been caught up in yet another golfing controversy<\/a> after a video appeared to show a caddie dropping a ball for him during a round in Scotland.<\/p>\n

The US President<\/a>, currently in Europe and visiting his golf resorts, was playing a few holes at Turnberry when a camera captured the moment one of his caddies seemed to go a step too far in assisting him.<\/p>\n

Footage filmed from inside a nearby building<\/a> shows Trump arriving in a golf cart on the left side of the fairway. A bunker lay between him and the green, with some light fescue to his left. As he pulled up, two caddies walked past \u2014 and one of them was seen stopping briefly to drop a ball ahead of Trump.<\/p>\n

The 79-year-old stepped out of the cart, club in hand, and strolled over to the freshly placed ball, apparently preparing to take his next shot. The video ends before he swings.<\/p>\n

Social media shares<\/p>\n

The clip quickly went viral on social media, sparking fresh accusations of cheating.<\/p>\n

\u201cWho needs a foot wedge when you have a personal ball dropper???\u201d joked one user on X, formerly known as Twitter.<\/p>\n

Another user quipped, \u201cHim and Kim Jong Un would be INSANE scramble partners.\u201d<\/p>\n

A commenter who claimed to be a PGA professional added, \u201cSuch a perfect metaphor for our Commander-in-Cheat.\u201d<\/p>\n

Others mocked the footage with tongue-in-cheek admiration. \u201cWild\u2026 Looks like I need these fellas as Caddies with the way I hit it anymore,\u201d read one post.<\/p>\n

This isn\u2019t the first time Trump has been accused of stretching the rules on the golf course.<\/p>\n

Does Trump cheat at golf?<\/p>\n

Earlier this year, actor Samuel L. Jackson claimed Trump cheated during a round they played together. When asked who had the better game, Jackson replied: \u201cOh, I am, for sure. I don\u2019t cheat.\u201d<\/p>\n

Trump later denied playing with the Pulp Fiction star, insisting on social media that the game never happened.<\/p>\n

Actor Anthony Anderson has also made similar accusations. Speaking on Late Night with Seth Meyers in 2016, Anderson said, \u201cTrump is a great golfer. I\u2019m not going to say Trump cheats. His caddy cheats for him.\u201d<\/p>\n

When pressed on whether he\u2019d actually seen Trump cheat, Anderson replied: \u201cOh yes, several times. Several times.\u201d<\/p>\n

He recalled one incident where both he and Trump mis-hit their tee shots. \u201cTrump hit the exact same shot but went 20 yards further left than mine,\u201d he said. \u201cI could not find my ball in this trash. Trump\u2019s ball had the fluffiest lie in the middle of the fairway.\u201d<\/p>\n

Anderson added: \u201cLike I say, I didn\u2019t see Trump cheat because he was on the tee-box with me, but his ball was right there in the middle of the fairway.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sportswriter Rick Reilly has also written extensively on the subject, claiming in 2019 that Trump regularly kicked or moved his ball to improve his position and even claimed other players\u2019 shots as his own.<\/p>\n

Reilly wrote in The Sunday Times that Trump\u2019s caddies had nicknamed him \u201cPele\u201d because of how often he kicked the ball.<\/p>\n

\u201cTo say Donald Trump<\/a> cheats is like saying Michael Phelps swims,\u201d he wrote. \u201cTrump doesn\u2019t just cheat at golf. He cheats like a three-card monte dealer. He throws it, boots it and moves it.
