Pistachio products sold at a Mississauga store are being recalled for potential salmonella contamination.<\/p>\n
The notice<\/a> comes amid a salmonella outbreak across Canada<\/a>. <\/p>\n Salted Iranian Pistachios, along with the lemon and lightly salted variants, were sold at Master Delight in Mississauga. The store is located on Telford Way, near Derry Road. <\/p>\n The Salted Iranian Pistachios and their variants were sold between Nov. 1, 2024 and Jan. 31 of this year. <\/p>\n Along with the salted pistachios, Phidelia Premium Products\u2019 natural kernel pistachios, sold in 200-gram packages in Ontario, are being recalled. <\/p>\n Canada has temporarily banned importing pistachios from Iran<\/a> due to the ongoing salmonella outbreak. <\/p>\n The recall notice, published by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency, warns against consuming, serving, selling, or distributing the products. <\/p>\n It advises to return or throw out any recalled products. <\/p>\n \u201cFood contaminated with salmonella may not look or smell spoiled but can still make you sick. Young children, pregnant women, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems may contract serious and sometimes deadly infections,\u201d according to the notice.<\/p>\n \u201cHealthy people may experience short-term symptoms such as fever, headache, vomiting, nausea, abdominal cramps and diarrhea.
