O’Shea will return for another season as head coach of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, the team announced Friday. <\/p>\n
The announcement comes after some uncertainty about O’Shea’s future, as the Toronto Argonauts were reportedly granted permission to interview O’Shea for their vacant head coaching job. <\/p>\n
O\u2019Shea, 55, has been the coach of the Blue Bombers since 2014, compiling a 117-77 record during the regular season. He has set the mark for most wins by a head coach in franchise history and the seventh-highest total in CFL history, and also has two Grey Cup championships in five appearances.<\/p>\n
The Blue Bombers were eliminated in the East semifinal by the Montreal Alouettes this season after earning a crossover berth. <\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the Argos will have to go in a new direction with their search as they look to replace Ryan Dinwiddie, who left the team to join the Ottawa Redblacks as their head coach and general manager.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Mike O’Shea is staying in Winnipeg.
