Myron Sullivan, who works for Foster and Partners, has discussed the importance of honouring the history of San Siro when designing the new stadium.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Milan and Inter named Foster+Partners and Manica as the architectural firms for the San Siro project a few months back<\/a>. Now that the purchase of the Giuseppe Meazza and the San Siro area has been completed<\/a>, the two firms are working tirelessly to come up with a final design for the project.<\/p>\n

As you would expect, the expectations are high for what will be a historic project in Italy, given the difficulties with building new stadiums. The two firms will have to come up with something that honours the past but also takes the clubs into the 21st century.<\/p>\n

Speaking to Foster and Partners\u2019 website<\/a>, the chief of the Venues Specialist team \u2013 Myron Sullivan \u2013 answered some questions on the design process and what will be important for them in the San Siro area. Wembley, which was also designed by the firm, is a similar example.<\/p>\n

\u201cAI and cloud computing have revolutionised the way we analyse sightlines. In recent years, there has been a shift from two-dimensional to three-dimensional sightline analysis, which has allowed us to simulate and optimise crowd flows and seating arrangements for an incredible atmosphere.<\/p>\n
