Alexander Zverev started the year hungry for an elusive major advancing to the Australian Open final.<\/p>\n

In the aftermath of his ATP Finals loss to Felix Auger-Aliassime, Zverev said the 2025 season left a bad taste in his mouth.<\/p>\n

Though he is currently world No. 3 in the live rankings and won his 24th title before adoring home fans in Munich, Zverev summed up his season as \u201cincredibly unsatisfying.\u201d<\/p>\n

For me, an incredibly unsatisfying season,\u201d Zverev said. \u201cThe tennis
season is long, you have a lot of up and downs. For me there were not many ups. I think for me the Australian Open final, Munich as you mentioned. Everything else, I\u2019m very unsatisfied.\u201d<\/p>\n

Though the former Olympic gold-medal champion reached finals in Vienna and Stuttgart, he also suffered a Wimbledon opening loss to Arthur Rinderknech, bowed to Novak Djokovic in the Roland Garros quarterfinals and was knocked out of the US Open third round by Auger-Aliassime.<\/p>\n

Zverev confirmed he will represent Germany in next week\u2019s Davis Cup Final 8 then aims to focus on getting fully fit and healthy ahead of the 2026 season.<\/p>\n

\u201cI mean, staying fit is number one for me priority because then I can build. It\u2019s as simple as that,\u201d Zverev said. \u201cI feel like over the last month I was still building up quite nicely. I feel like my level has been
improving. Today it was nowhere near what it was the last month.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut yeah, I mean, look, I\u2019ll play Davis Cup, then I\u2019ll take some time off, then I\u2019ll have some time to think about it. Right now it\u2019s a disappointment with the loss.
