Montreal Alouettes\u2019 quarterback Davis Alexander\u2019s left hamstring health has been a major focus leading into the 112th Grey Cup on Sunday in Winnipeg.<\/p>\n

During practices at Princess Auto Stadium, he\u2019s looked comfortable throwing the football and moving around. He\u2019s been undergoing four to five therapy sessions per day<\/a> throughout the week to work back towards 100 percent.<\/p>\n

\u201cI would say somewhere between 75 to 90 percent,\u201d Alexander said about his left hamstring<\/a> entering the CFL championship game.<\/p>\n

\u201cI haven\u2019t fully put it out there yet, but at least we were able to check off all the day one, day two, day three boxes. I keep saying it, but it\u2019s gone better than expected.\u201d<\/p>\n

It seems as though the Saskatchewan Roughriders have heard enough about Alexander\u2019s left hamstring. Some players believe the 27-year-old QB and his team are playing up the injury to be more than it is.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t care. I think it\u2019s hilarious. If that\u2019s what they\u2019re worried about, that\u2019s what they\u2019re worried about. We\u2019ll see after the game, I guess,\u201d Alexander said.<\/p>\n

Riders\u2019 head coach Corey Mace stated he\u2019s told his team to prepare for everybody\u2019s best from Montreal. Whether Saskatchewan actually feels it\u2019s gamesmanship, the 39-year-old bench boss knows his defence has to play focused football for 60 minutes against Alexander.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe expect everybody\u2019s best. I would expect him to be doing what he does; it\u2019s the defence\u2019s job to prevent him from doing that, not his hamstring,\u201d Mace said. \u201cWhoever\u2019s out there for them, whoever\u2019s out there for us, there\u2019s going to be multiple people banged up \u2014 I\u2019m sure tons that you guys don\u2019t even know about.\u201d<\/p>\n

Alexander did not play in either regular-season meeting between the two teams in 2025, as each franchise won once versus the other on the road. However, Mace and his defence have seen him twice in game action.<\/p>\n

The first came in Week 8 last year when he led a come-from-behind 20-16 win after entering the game to start the third quarter in Montreal. Alexander completed 15-of-18 passes for 178 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions in 30 minutes after the Als were down 16-3 at halftime.<\/p>\n

His first career start against the Roughriders came in Week 11 in 2024 at Mosaic Stadium. He completed 22-of-33 passes for 285 yards with one touchdown while rushing four times for 33 yards and the game-winning major late in the fourth quarter to lead Montreal to a 27-24 win.<\/p>\n

The five-foot-11, 210-pound QB has a perfect 13-0 record so far in his CFL career as a starting quarterback.<\/p>\n
