In April, Justin Vernon released SABLE, fABLE<\/a>, his fifth studio album with his band Bon Iver. Now the indie mainstay is saying he’d be “very surprised” if there were another Bon Iver record.<\/p>\n

In an interview with The Times<\/a>, Vernon was asked why he thinks superstars like Taylor Swift<\/a> and Charli XCX<\/a> wanted to work with him. “I’m tapped into the emotion of music \u2014 the blue part,” he said. “I have that in me thanks to the thousands of musicians I’ve absorbed, and they’re just in there. But I don’t know how much is left. I’ve expelled a lot of it.” The article then reads:<\/p>\n

Does that mean there won\u2019t be another album as Bon Iver? \u201cI would be very surprised,\u201d Vernon admits. \u201cFor the first time since I was 12, I\u2019m not writing songs. There aren\u2019t any in here.\u201d He points at his heart. \u201cI have been writing since puberty and this is unfamiliar territory \u2014 but I am accepting it. It\u2019s scary sometimes, but I\u2019m just letting it happen \u2026\u201d<\/p>\n

Musicians are dramatic, though. SABLE, fABLE was the first Bon Iver LP in six years, so he probably just needs some time. It also recently got two Grammy nominations: the record itself is up for Best Alternative Music Album, and “Everything Is Peaceful Love” is up for Best Alternative Music Performance.
