It\u2019s a wet and windy start to Sunday morning in Waterloo Region.<\/p>\n
Environment Canada says the region can expect some rain showers this morning, possibly turning into snow flurries later in the morning.<\/p>\n
570 meteorologist Carl Lam warns that the wind will be a big factor.<\/p>\n
\u201cThose gusts today could bring up to 60, even 70km\/hr at times,\u201d said Lam. \u201cIt will still be very windy tonight and even into tomorrow.\u201d<\/p>\n
Some extra snow could also be in the forecast. Several areas west of the Region, including Stratford, Woodstock and Goderich have been issued snow squall warnings. That changed from a snow squall watch earlier Sunday morning. Lam notes the totals are \u201cwide ranging\u201d and will vary depending on the area.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey could be anywhere between 20-40cm of snow,\u201d said Lam. He notes that could continue into the afternoon and Monday morning.<\/p>\n
With the snow squall warnings in effect, drivers are reminded to be cautious as they could lead to reduced visibility.<\/p>\n
