Two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Kyle Larson was involved in an upside-down crash during his latest motorsport venture.<\/p>\n

The American made headlines in 2024 after saying he is a better all-around driver than Max Verstappen<\/a>, winning his first NASCAR Cup Series title that year, as well as competing in the Indy 500 as a rookie.\"max-verstappen-brazil.jpg.\"\/<\/p>\n

The 33-year-old also <\/a>secured a second NASCAR Cup title this season<\/a>, but with that campaign now complete, Larson continued getting behind the wheel, resulting in him taking his talents to something far different:\u00a0USAC Midget Racing.<\/p>\n

Taking part in the ‘Hangtown 100’ event at the Placerville Speedway in Northern California, Larson led the way with just five laps remaining of the 100-lap race.<\/p>\n

However, the American ended up on his roof in some late-race drama, as a tight tussle for the lead saw Daison Pursley in second look for a move down the inside, going on to clip Larson’s car and send the 35-year-old off the track, flipping over in the process. \u00a0<\/p>\n

Despite the striking crash, Larson was able to hop out of the car unscathed, going on to sarcastically give a thumbs up and clap at Pursley, who went on to win the event.<\/p>\n

After the race, the NASCAR champion was far more reserved while speaking to USAC Racing on X: “We had a good car, good race going, and Daison just must have built a run on the cushion behind me.<\/p>\n

“He surprised me on entry to one, and then you hit the grease, I kind of had nowhere to go. It’s just a bummer, but I get it, just because my entry was closed off, so he was going to have to pull the trigger right there. <\/p>\n

“Oh well, I guess? I wish it wouldn’t happen, and I’m sure he wishes it wouldn’t happen too,” concluded Larson.<\/p>\n
