NAPLES, Fla. \u2013 The Florida Gulf Coast University men’s tennis team wrapped up the fall season at the Pelican Bay Collegiate Invitational Nov. 14-15, turning in strong results against Barry and Boston College at the Pelican Bay Community Center.<\/p>\n

\nThe Eagles earned four singles victories, highlighted by comeback wins from Gustav Hasslegren<\/a>, Stefan Correa<\/a>, and Harry Michalowski<\/a>, while CJ Smith<\/a> secured a super-tiebreaker win to finish singles play. FGCU then swept all three doubles matches with victories from Correa\/Hugo Magnusson<\/a>, Jonathan Baron<\/a>\/Hasslegren, and Smith\/Michalowski.<\/p>\n

vs BOSTON COLLEGE

\nFGCU claimed three singles wins, led by Magnusson in a super-tiebreak, a straight-set win from\u00a0Baron, and a dominant performance by Pablo Paternostro<\/a>. The Eagles again impressed in doubles, earning wins from Baron\/Hasslegren, Correa\/Magnusson, Smith\/Michalowski, and Paternostro\/Mai Gao (BC)\u00a0to close out the weekend.<\/p>\n

\nHead Coach Josh Molino<\/a> – “It was an excellent 2 days of competition against Boston College and Barry. The Eagles played very well, going undefeated in doubles and 7-6 in singles. Back to back weekends is difficult at any point in the season and our guys handled it really well. The next two\u00a0months, we will focus on making some improvements in a few areas, physically, technically and mentally and will be ready for the opening weekend in Orlando for January. A big thanks to the Pelican Bay Foundation, their staff and members for an awesome weekend!”<\/p>\n

\nThe Eagles will take a break from competition over the next two months. The team returns to action Jan. 10 as they travel to Orlando, Fla. to take on Louisiana.<\/p>\n
