During the Cincinnati Bengals<\/a>‘ Week 11 34-12 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers<\/a>, Jalen Rams<\/a>ey and Ja’Marr Chase got into it, leading to Ramsey getting thrown out for a punch he threw at Chase.<\/p>\n

But, after the game, it was revealed that Chase had spit on Ramsey before the altercation, and the concern was that the NFL, amid a review of the incident, could suspend Chase for one game.<\/p>\n

As NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport<\/a> reports, the NFL is indeed suspending Chase for one week, as the superstar Bengals wide receiver is going to miss the Week 12 match against the New England Patriots<\/a>.<\/p>\n

NFL suspends Ja’Marr Chase one game for spitting on Jalen Ramsey<\/p>\n

“Bengals star WR Ja’Marr Chase was suspended one game by the NFL,” Rapoport reports, “which determined that Chase spit on Steelers DB Jalen Ramsey, who was ejected on Sunday.”<\/p>\n

Chase’s spitting incident isn’t the first time the NFL has made a harsh decision when a player has spat on another player. Jalen Carter was ejected from the Philadelphia Eagles<\/a> and Dallas Cowboys<\/a> Week 1 game for spitting on Dak Prescott.<\/p>\n

Chase’s spitting incident, which Austin Briski of Fox 19<\/a> shared on Twitter\/X, was clear, despite Chase’s denial. The NFL watched the video and decided to suspend Chase for one game.<\/p>\n

The big difference is that Carter wasn’t suspended for a week, but for a reason the FNL made clear. The NFL made the decision that Carter served his one-game suspension in Week 1, since he was ejected before any snap was made.<\/p>\n

The suspension can be appealed by Chase, but Carter’s ruling earlier in the year doesn’t bode well for Chase winning this appeal.<\/p>\n

Chase is appealing his suspension, according to NFL insider Jordan Shultz<\/a>. If Chase doesn’t win this appeal and the suspension is upheld, he will have to miss the Bengals’ Week 12 game against the Patriots.<\/p>\n

At 3-7, the Bengals have little room for error the rest of the season. Unfortunately, the Bengals are trending towards being down their number one receiver in Week 12.<\/p>\n

Tee Higgins and Andrei Iosivas will get plenty of work in his absence, as the Bengals will likely be playing from behind a strong Patriots team.<\/p>\n
