Elated Saskatchewan Roughrider football fans gathered at Mosaic Stadium Monday to catch a glimpse of the Grey Cup and the 2025 CFL championship team as they returned to their home field. <\/p>\n
\u201cI want to congratulate all of you guys on this championship as well because this is yours to share with us,\u201d said Saskatchewan Roughriders quarterback Trevor Harris as he stood on a balcony with his teammates, many of them shirtless on a brisk November day, speaking to hundreds of fans gathered below.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo this Grey Cup is your guys\u2019 as well.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
Harris completed 23 of 27 passes in Sunday\u2019s Grey Cup game, leading the Riders to a 25-17 win against the Montreal Alouettes.<\/p>\n
He was named the game’s MVP for his performance, which brought the Saskatchewan Roughriders and their famous fan base, often called the 13th man, their fifth Grey Cup.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019ve been telling people all year it\u2019s our time,\u201d Harris told cheering fans as his teammates waved Roughrider flags and hoisted the Grey Cup in the air beside him.<\/p>\n
Roughriders head coach Corey Mace echoed Harris and said the fans deserved the cup, which the team last won in 2013 by beating the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.<\/p>\n

Riders fans started gathering at Mosaic Stadium at around noon Monday, preparing to welcome the team as they returned from Winnipeg, which hosted the 112th Grey Cup game.<\/p>\n
\u201cLast night when we won I warned my friends at the Grey Cup party, I will be very comfortable with man hugging,\u201d said Chad Smith, who celebrated on Regina\u2019s Green Mile after the win and was at Mosaic Stadium on Monday.<\/p>\n

Fans \u2014 almost all of them decked out in Rider green \u2014 cheered, danced and sang while a brass band played hype songs like Sweet Caroline and Green is the Colour prior to the team\u2019s arrival.<\/p>\n
Chants of \u201cLet\u2019s go riders, let\u2019s go,\u201d spontaneously erupted from the crowd as fans waited to see the Grey Cup back on Saskatchewan soil.<\/p>\n
Lois and Brian Schatz rented out their home to Harris and his family when he re-signed with the Riders last Christmas. They drove to Winnipeg to watch Sunday\u2019s game, got home at 4:30 a.m. and were back at Mosaic Stadium to cheer the team\u2019s arrival just after lunch.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re hopefully moving back home tomorrow night to celebrate with him for a couple of days,\u201d Lois said.<\/p>\n
Brian said Harris had planned to retire if he won the Grey Cup and MVP, but he thinks that changed as the season progressed.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think he started wavering. We\u2019re hopeful he would be back.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Grey Cup celebrations continue Tuesday at 2 p.m. CST, with the entire team being driven by members of the Royal Canadian Armed Forces in a parade down Albert Street from 13th Avenue to 20th Avenue.<\/p>\n
