font size<\/p>\n<p>A British Columbia man suffered minor injuries after fending off a <a href=\"https:\/\/globalnews.ca\/?s=cougar\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">cougar<\/a> attack by punching the animal in the face in the province\u2019s northern Interior.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/1753129028_943_70c8fc80.png\" alt=\"\" style=\"position:absolute;width:1px;height:1px\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer-when-downgrade\"\/><\/p>\n<p>The province\u2019s Conservation Officer Service says in a social media post that the attack happened on Saturday around 11 a.m. near when they happen.<\/p>\n<p>The service says the man was working near Lake Kathlyn when the animal approached and swiped his upper body.<\/p>\n<p>The man told officers that he punched the cougar in the injuries and did not need to be hospitalized.<\/p>\n<p>Officers set a live trap in the area and surveyed the scene but did not locate the cougar, and the service says it is monitoring the vicinity in
