Tszyu\u2019s return comes after a turbulent 18 months in which he suffered three world-title losses to Sebastian Fundora and Bakhram Murtazaliev. Now, the Australian star is determined to rebuild his momentum.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe support has been great. I think a lot of Aussies can relate to setbacks and understand the feelings\u00a0involved with that,\u201d Tszyu said in a video interview from Miami as the bout was officially announced on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd I think I\u2019m a bit more relatable\u00a0now you know? I\u2019ve gone through adversity\u00a0and for me now it\u2019s about getting back to the very top because I\u2019ve always had that drive in me.\u201d<\/p>\n
No Limit CEO George Rose said stepping in to the ring with the unbeaten Velazquez was a dangerous and risky assignment for Tszyu, but the fighter said he\u2019s still willing to take on any challenge put in front of him.<\/p>\n
Tszyu is currently training in Miami with famed Cuban coach Pedro Diaz, a veteran of more than 40 years who has helped shape numerous world champions. Tszyu believes the partnership has been a revelation and said he wanted to prove it in the ring.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m going to have to show it (what impact the changes have made),\u201d Tszyu said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m going to punch, punch and I\u2019m going to keep punching until\u00a0he\u2019s out. That\u2019s my plan.\u201d<\/p>\n
Tszyu and Velazquez came face-to-face for the first time via Wednesday\u2019s video hook-up and the 29-year American oozed quiet confidence, despite proving a man of few words.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is my biggest opportunity so far and I\u2019m looking to take advantage of it,\u201d Velazquez said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ve seen a couple of his (Tszyu\u2019s) fights. He\u2019s had a great career so far … but I\u2019m coming to Australia to win.<\/p>\n
\u201cI believe in myself and my skills… and I really believe I\u2019m going to win this fight.<\/p>\n
\u201c… I can win in multiple ways, I\u2019m just going to fight my fight and however it plays out, it\u2019s just win.\u201d<\/p>\n

As part of his fresh start, Tszyu recently told Fox Sports Australia he is dropping the \u2018Soul Taker\u2019 nickname. <\/a><\/p>\n For his comeback, he\u2019ll fight under a new moniker: \u2018Phoenix\u2019, symbolising his climb back toward a second world title.<\/p>\n Fighting just a week before Christmas, Tszyu will be aiming to deliver an early gift to all Australian fight fans.<\/p>\n
