After going to the Grey Cup every year since 1997, Roughrider fan Brian Clark<\/a> didn\u2019t have a ticket to this year\u2019s game \u2014 at least, not until he befriended a Bombers fan.<\/p>\n

Before his stroke of luck, though, Clark had driven more than 17 hours to get from his home state in Missouri up to Winnipeg for what he was hoping would be his 29th Grey Cup game.<\/p>\n

Feeling \u201cwiped out\u201d after the journey, he asked the front desk person at his hotel where to \u201cget a beverage or three.\u201d<\/p>\n

That\u2019s how Clark ended up in Torque Brewing, right by Winnipeg\u2019s airport, at the same time as a Bombers fan waiting for their dad to arrive from Victoria, B.C.<\/p>\n

The two of them struck up a conversation, and according to Clark that\u2019s when he shared he didn\u2019t have a ticket to watch the game for the first time in decades.<\/p>\n

The Bombers fan told him, \u201c\u2018Well, my father said he didn\u2019t really want to go.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThis guy was a season ticket holder. Gave me his ticket for like, almost nothing. And I was just like, \u2018you got to be kidding me.\u2019 I\u2019d rather be lucky than good any day,\u201d Clark said.<\/p>\n

He was then able to watch in person as his team beat out the Alouettes.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m very proud to say, I\u2019ve been to three-fifths of the Riders Grey Cup victories now,\u201d he said, adding how it would\u2019ve been four of six if the 13th man situation hadn\u2019t happened in 2009.<\/p>\n

Even with three wins under his belt, Clark said picking a favourite out of those Grey Cup games would as difficult as picking which child you like best.<\/p>\n

\u201cHow do you pick your favourite one?\u201d he asked.<\/p>\n

Clark said there were some highlights from this weekend, particularly how Bombers fans came out in support of Saskatchewan\u2019s team.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs difficult as it was for [Winnipeg] to cheer the Riders, it was amazing to see the camaraderie and the fellowship and that people really wanted to see the West win, no matter if the Bombers were in the game,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s team-swapping that would rarely happen in the NFL, according to Clark.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf the Chiefs are playing the Broncos or Raiders or whatever, no one\u2019s gonna root. They\u2019re just very team loyal. In Canada, the game is so division friendly,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

He also paid compliments to MGK\u2019s half-time show performance, as well as the Riders cheerleaders<\/a> and pep band.<\/p>\n

Those last two are the sorts of things, \u201cyou don\u2019t see at a Super Bowl game,\u201d Clark said.<\/p>\n

While he\u2019s starting his journey back to Missouri today, he said he\u2019s feeling a bit of jealousy towards his friends who\u2019ll get to be in Regina for the victory parade<\/a>.<\/p>\n

But, even so, Clark said he\u2019s \u201cjust so proud\u201d he got to watch the game \u2014 all thanks to a Bombers fan.<\/p>\n
