A disturbing wildlife crime has prompted an investigation by Ontario conservation officers after a bull moose was found shot and abandoned east of Hearst.<\/p>\n

A\u00a0forestry company made a grim discovery on October 27 \u2014 a dead bull moose, apparently shot illegally, lying abandoned in Roche Township.<\/p>\n
Conservation officers with the Ministry of Natural Resources are asking for the public\u2019s help in identifying those responsible for killing and abandoning a bull moose in a forestry cut block off the Mitchell Chutes Road.<\/p>\n
On October 27,\u00a0a local forestry company reported finding the bull moose in a cut block at the end of P-6 Road, near a strip road and a wood pile. Investigators believe the animal was shot between October 24 and 26.<\/p>\n
“This is a serious offence, and the ministry is committed to holding those responsible accountable,” says a news release.<\/p>\n
