Motifs on the clothing and accessories draw heavily from the environment, with some designs incorporating a topographic map print. As expected, there are also a lot of maple leaves.

At the forefront of the campaign are a number of Canadian sports ambassadors, most notably Sidney Crosby, the Pittsburgh Penguins centre and two-time gold medal winner for Canada’s men’s hockey team.

Open this photo in gallery:

Athletes model Lululemon’s new Team Canada uniforms for the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics, in Toronto on Tuesday.Laura Proctor/The Canadian Press

Lululemon has also made efforts to champion Paralympics competitors, with Jon Thurston of Canada’s wheelchair curling team and multi-sport athlete Christina Picton serving as models during the kit’s unveiling at the brand’s flagship Toronto store.

That consideration of inclusivity and representation extends to the athletic kit’s design, which incorporates elements like abrasion-resistant fabrics, braille and magnetic zippers. There are also seated-fit styles – a result of feedback from Para athletes.

“It has been incredible to see the athlete kit continue to evolve thanks to Lululemon’s commitment to working directly with athletes through every step of the process to understand their needs,” said Karen O’Neill, CEO of the Canadian Paralympic Committee, in a press release for the launch. “This has resulted in our most inclusive and adaptive kit yet.”

Standout pieces include a quilted wrap vest featuring a large maple leaf – a convertible goose-down garment meant to be worn over clothes. It can act as a vest, scarf or waist covering depending on its styling (the drawcord also allows the whole thing to be converted into a pillow, in case the athletes are in need of some extra rest).

Lululemon is outfitting Canada’s Olympic Winter athletes in dark reds and cool greens and a new pattern inspired by Canada’s geography. The Vancouver-based clothing retailer has revealed a collection of puffy parkas, snow pants, hats and scarves that convey patriotic cheer with Maple Leafs maple leaves and a swirling print that’s actually a topographical map of the country.

The Canadian Press

The closing ceremony’s matching green jacket and pants set is also likely to create conversation. While the outfit is arguably the most wearable of the kit for non-athletes, the colour choice and bare-bones design aren’t immediately identifiable as Canadian – an odd choice for Olympic gear.

This is the third Olympic Games for which Lululemon has designed Team Canada’s official gear, part of a multiyear partnership between the brand and the country’s Olympic and Paralympic committees.

The Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic Games run Feb. 6-22 with the Paralympics following March 6-15.

Open this photo in gallery: Athletes model Lululemon’s new Team Canada uniforms for the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter…

[2
43,44,2922,41,39,42,40
0":"post-293088","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-headlines","8":"tag-headlines","9":"tag-news","10":"tag-noastack","11":"tag-top-news","12":"tag-top-stories","13":"tag-topnews","14":"tag-topstories
["GET
