\n\tElle<\/a> celebrated some of this year\u2019s leading ladies at its annual Women in Hollywood event on Monday, with Jennifer Aniston<\/a>, Emily Blunt, Rose Byrne<\/a>, Teyana Taylor, Jessie Buckley, Chase Infiniti,\u00a0Renate Reinsve\u00a0and\u00a0Sinners<\/a>\u2018 Hailee Steinfeld, Jayme Lawson and Wunmi Mosaku all being feted.<\/p>\n

\n\tAmong a sea of star-studded speeches and presenters, one of the biggest moments of the night came as Adam Sandler<\/a> stopped by to present to Aniston, recalling how he\u2019s \u201cbeen friends<\/a> with this spectacular genius since I was 22 years old \u2014 a young, handsome, skinny boy.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI can honestly say Jen is the best in so many ways and one of the most rock-steady human beings I\u2019ve met. I\u2019ve only seen her angry like two and a half times in the 40 years I\u2019ve hung out with her,\u201d he continued, while also giving a shoutout to Aniston\u2019s new boyfriend Jim Curtis, who sat beside the star. \u201cMe and Jackie are so happy that you and Jim found each other and are having the love affair you two deserve. We love you, Jim, the whole world loves you Jim,\u201d Sandler said to laughs from the crowd.<\/p>\n

\n\tAniston took the stage and noted how much has changed since she was last honored by Elle in 2011, with \u201chow many incredible women have just kicked the door down, seriously kicked the door down. You\u2019ve been creating, you\u2019ve been directing, you\u2019ve been leading, you\u2019ve been producing, you\u2019ve been starring, you\u2019ve been making human beings, which is unbelievable, and making it look so easy, which we all know it is not easy.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tShe went on to recall that she first said she wanted to produce in 2004, the same year that Friends<\/a> ended, and \u201cthe room got really, really quiet and I got that look of \u2018how cute you are\u2019 and sort of a pat on the head and the air bubble above the head that says, \u2018OK let\u2019s just wait a second, let\u2019s put a pin in this for now.’\u201d Aniston added that slowly the industry began to change and \u201cI got to produce my first movie and I can confirm, I love it. And I\u2019m really good at it.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tNow executive producing The Morning Show<\/a>, Aniston also mused that she continues to show up for \u201cthe friendships and the shared belief that storytelling still matters, that baring our souls as actors and creators still matters \u2014 something that A.I. will never be able to duplicate, no matter how smart it gets.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tElsewhere in the event, Dwayne Johnson presented to his Smashing Machine co-star Blunt, Kerry Washington to Taylor, Chloe Zhao to her Hamnet star Buckley, Regina Hall to Infiniti and Sebastian Stan to Reinsve. <\/p>\n

\n\tMelissa McCarthy<\/a> was on hand to honor Byrne, as she declared that for 25 years, the If I Had Legs I\u2019d Kick You star \u201chas defied anyone to put limits on her talent. And now if there\u2019s any justice in the world, she\u2019ll find herself in the one role she was always meant to play, which is an Oscar nominee.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tMcCarthy looked back at when they worked together on Bridesmaids and admitted she wasn\u2019t sure Byrne would be funny after a career of dramatic work. The cast went to a male strip club together on a \u201cresearch trip\u201d for film and \u201cat the end we all thought it would be funny to keep buying dances for other people and none of us wanted those dances, respectfully. I just remember Rose and I thought, \u2018She\u2019s going to be just great in this;\u2019 she was on a chair with a very oily man dancing over her and she just looked at me and she\u2019s like, \u2018I\u2019m worried he\u2019s going to ruin my blouse\u2019 because he was so oily.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tMichael B. Jordan and Ryan Coogler were also on hand to present to Sinners<\/a> actresses Steinfeld, Lawson and Mosaku (though Steinfeld missed the event due to illness). <\/p>\n

\n\tIn their speech, Lawson acknowledged, \u201cEvery woman in this room knows what it feels like to crave as an artist but often times not feel full. So not only did Ryan fill our appetite, but he also gifted us each other, my sisters.
