(WCAX) &#8211; On Wednesday, a northeast kingdom mental health resource celebrates its full-time opening.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Front Porch Mental Health Urgent Care in Newport opened last year with limited hours.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Now, Northeast Kingdom Human Services, which operates the center, is celebrating an expansion to 24-hour operations.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The four-bed facility is open to anyone in the community who needs help and is designed to be a more appropriate setting than an emergency room.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Front Porch will have an open house for their grand re-opening on Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the location on Lakemont Road in Newport.<\/p>\n<p class=\"copyright |\">Copyright 2025 WCAX.
