The rookie \u2014 taken ninth overall \u2014 has been a steady contributor for the Raptors, alternating between a bench and starting role. He’s averaging 8.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 1.2 stocks (steals and blocks), while playing 20 minutes per night.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Jonathan Mogbo, who’s on assignment, and two-way players Chucky Hepburn, Alijah Martin and A.J. Lawson will also be unavailable as they remain with the Raptors 905, Toronto’s G League affiliate. The 905 take on the Greensboro Swarm on Thursday, looking to extend a franchise-best 5-0 start to the season.<\/p>\n
As for the Raptors, they’ll look to remain red-hot themselves on Friday. Toronto has gone 9-1 in its last 10 outings, including a five-game win streak. A victory against Washington would not only extend that streak but also virtually secure a spot in this year’s NBA Cup knockout round \u2014 which the franchise has never done before.<\/p>\n
