Jelly Roll has debuted a new look that even shocked himself while reacting to a recent milestone moment: receiving three nominations at the upcoming 2026 Grammys<\/a>. <\/p>\n

On Nov. 20, the 40-year-old musician uploaded a vlog to YouTube, marking his \u201clong overdue\u201d comeback to the video style that he used during the early days of his career. The 15-minute clip<\/a> began with footage of him on his Nashville farm and ended with Jelly Roll deciding to shave his beard for the first time in over a decade. <\/p>\n

He shared that he wanted to shave his beard as he continues his weight loss journey<\/a>. <\/p>\n

\u201cAt this point, I\u2019m sure some of y\u2019all are exhausted about hearing about my weight loss. But a lot of things change when you start losing weight. You realize things. One of the things I realized is I don\u2019t know what I look like. I\u2019ve had a beard to try to cover up my double chin,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n

Jelly Roll added, \u201cThe last time my face was shaved I was fresh out of jail.\u201d<\/p>\n

He predicted that he might resemble a Ninja Turtle after shaving his facial hair, but said he wanted to go through with it so he could surprise his family with his new appearance. He shared that he only told his wife, Bunnie XO<\/a>, about his plans to shave his beard and that his daughter, Bailee Ann<\/a>, had never seen him without it. <\/p>\n

The \u201cGet By\u201d singer used timelapse editing to show him slowly removing his beard as his wife looked on and filmed the moment on her phone. About halfway through the process, he turned to Bunnie XO, who appeared stunned. <\/p>\n

\u201cOh my gosh,\u201d she said as he laughed. She later gave her stamp of approval when he finished, telling her husband, \u201cI love it.\u201d <\/p>\n

He blurred out his face in the shot, saving the reveal for the last minutes of the video. Before he debuted his look to his fans, he showed off his clean-shaven face to his daughter, who instantly responded with laughter. <\/p>\n

\u201cStay over there!\u201d she playfully told her dad. \u201cOh my gosh, I\u2019m going to cry. I don\u2019t like this! You look like a turtle.\u201d<\/p>\n

Without further ado, Jelly Roll finally turned the camera toward himself for the grand reveal. <\/p>\n

\u201cBy now, you have probably figured out that I look like a Ninja Turtle,\u201d he joked while strolling through a wooded area. \u201cYeah, this was crazy.\u201d<\/p>\n

Taking a more sentimental tone, he continued, \u201cYou know, one of the reasons I\u2019d even started growing a beard was because I was so obese, it was just easier to cover up what was happening here.\u201d <\/p>\n

He then went on to talk about \u201cthe craziest thing\u201d that has ever happened to him: his latest Grammy nominations. When the Recording Academy announced the list of nominees for the 2026 Grammys<\/a> on Nov. 6, Jelly Roll was one of the many stars who received the coveted recognition. He was nominated for best contemporary country album for \u201cBeautifully Broken,\u201d best country duo\/group performance for his collaboration with Shaboozey called \u201cAmen\u201d and best contemporary Christian music performance\/song for \u201cHard Fought Hallelujah.\u201d <\/p>\n

In his vlog, Jelly Roll recalled receiving his first Grammy nomination at the 66th Annual Grammy Awards in 2024 for best new artist. He said that at the time he never imagined he would be recognized by the Recording Academy again. <\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t care what artists say. I don\u2019t care what artists act like. I\u2019m going to tell you the real truth. There\u2019s not an artist in the world that didn\u2019t grow up watching the Grammys when they were a kid and walk in their bedrooms afterwards and rehearse their speech,\u201d he said. \u201cGod will take something that\u2019s either normal and make it extremely abnormal or he will take something that\u2019s already incredible and make it absolutely mesmerizing, and that\u2019s the case here.\u201d<\/p>\n

He said that now he gets to celebrate this achievement while in \u201cthe best headspace.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cI see all my friends in this category. But then I just see standing there is this album called \u2018Beautifully Broken,\u2019\u201d he added. \u201cMan, if that doesn\u2019t represent what\u2019s happening in the world right now. I think more than ever\u2026 I think we can find beauty in what\u2019s happening. Win, lose or draw. Holy f—, dude, we won.\u201d<\/p>\n

He expressed his gratitude again to the Record Academy and said he wouldn\u2019t have accomplished anything without his faith. <\/p>\n

Before signing off, he encouraged his fans to mock his beardless face.<\/p>\n

\u201cI thought my chin went at least a half inch further than it actually went, f—. I didn\u2019t know. Failed science experiment, y\u2019all!\u201d he said. <\/p>\n

Jelly Roll uploaded the snippet of his newly shaven face to Instagram<\/a>, too. Celebrity friends complimented him about his Grammy nominations beneath the post. <\/p>\n

Charlie Puth said, \u201cVery inspiring man.\u201d<\/p>\n

Country singer Carly Pearce echoed that sentiment, calling Jelly Roll \u201can inspiration.\u201d <\/p>\n

Meanwhile, fans gave their approval of his look. <\/p>\n

\u201cFresh fit and clean faced,\u201d one fan commented. <\/p>\n

Another said, \u201cShut up I love it!!! You look so good!!!!!\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cHey i love ninja turtles,\u201d a third wrote. <\/p>\n

This is the latest dramatic transformation Jelly Roll has shared with his fans. Over the past year, he has also opened up repeatedly about losing weight. <\/p>\n

While appearing on \u201cJimmy Kimmel Live!\u201d<\/a> in April, he said his goal was to be under 250 pounds before explaining why losing weight is important to him. <\/p>\n

\u201cTo do all the fun stuff in life, you\u2019ve gotta be under 250,\u201d he told host Jimmy Kimmel before mentioning skydiving, riding a rollercoaster, riding a bull and wrestling an alligator. \u201cI\u2019ve got a list of things I want to do.\u201d<\/p>\n

He gave a progress update in August while giving a speech to the Tennessee Titan<\/a>s. \u201cI lost 200 pounds<\/a>,\u201d he said. \u201cI told coach I\u2019m getting a contract if I lose another 50.\u201d<\/p>\n
