A wildlife photographer in Canada\u2019s Yukon Territory on Thursday shared trail-cam footage revealing what an approaching grizzly bear looks like in a blizzard.<\/p>\n

\u201cAlthough I’ve shared this before, I’m guessing a lot of you have never seen this awesome snow-covered grizzly after a late September snowfall in 2021,\u201d David Troup of Yukon Wildlife Cams described via Facebook<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The footage is extraordinary in that grizzly bears hibernate during the winter, when the Yukon receives most of its snow. So it\u2019s rare to document a grizzly at close range during a blizzard and before it has shaken off the snow.<\/p>\n

Additionally, this occurred weeks before Troup typically collects his cameras before winter sets in, enabling his nearly 700,000 followers a unique glimpse into the life of a Yukon grizzly bear somewhat out of its element. (Click here<\/a> if video player does not appear below.)<\/p>\n

Top comment beneath Troup\u2019s post: “I don\u2019t know how you do it!? These amazing bears use the very trails you set up cameras [on], it makes my heart race to think how\u00a0close you come as you set up or retrieve cameras. Bears, even moose are awe-inspiring but it would be heart pounding up close and personal.\u201d<\/p>\n
