ANDERSON, Calif. – Logan Paul’s wrestling journey began with a simple invitation from a friend during his freshman year at Las Plumas High School. That moment sparked a 12-year commitment to the sport. Paul transitioned from wrestling to mixed martial arts (MMA) when his brother started the gym Strike Hold MMA Fitness. “I started my MMA journey when my brother started his gym Strike Hold MMA Fitness, he had been trying to get me to fight since I was 26. I had my first fight at 30,” Paul said.<\/p>\n
He has spent the last three years competing professionally in MMA. “My first fight\u2026 it was really nerve-racking. It’s a lot different than wrestling. There’s a lot of people watching you, all eyes are on you. There’s a walkout song, you’ve gotta put effort into being glamorous. It’s just a lot different and a lot more nerve-racking,” Paul said. Despite the initial nerves, Paul has built a solid fighting career with a record of two wins and one loss in his first three fights. “I have very limited time left, I’m 33 so I have only a few short years left.So I want to take it as far as I possibly can,” Paul said.<\/p>\n
Paul had a scheduled bout for November 12 at Win-River Casino, but his opponent withdrew at the last minute. He is currently awaiting a routine medical check and expects to return to competition in the coming months.
