NASCAR star Joey Logano has broken his silence to address health concerns after the Team Penske star shocked fans by going bald in the offseason. The three-time Cup Series champion and 2024 winner, who didn’t contest this month’s Championship 4 finale in Phoenix, won by Kyle Larson in overtime, shedding light again on living with the incurable autoimmune disorder Alopecia.<\/p>\n

It’s not the first time that\u00a0 Logano has discussed his early hair loss and Alopecia diagnosis<\/a>. Alopecia causes hair to fall out in small patches due to the body’s immune system attacking the hair follicles. It was in 2019 when Logano first noticed patchy hair at the back of his head after a haircut.<\/p>\n

Still, Logano’s decision to go bald in the 2025 offseason<\/a>, six years after his first Alopecia diagnosis, raised concerns and questions in the NASCAR<\/a> world, with fans accustomed to the Team Penske star’s longer hair and cap on race weekends. Logano<\/a> has now taken to social media to address the buzz around his new look, confirming he is fit and healthy.<\/p>\n

“Hey, I got a bunch of text messages and DMs lately about my new do, my new haircut. And a lot of people concerned if I was okay,” Logano said in a video posted to social media platform X. “First off, I appreciate everyone asking if I was okay.<\/p>\n

“I am fine. I am perfectly healthy. Just wanted to get a haircut at the end of the season. And I have Alopecia, which I’ve had for a long time now. And so when we’re cutting it, it’s all flared up.<\/p>\n

“And so it’s all spotty. And so we just kept cutting it. And now I got a new do. And so I’m good. Like I said, appreciate everyone caring.<\/p>\n

“Didn’t think it would be this big of a story, but after getting so many text messages, I felt like I probably should let everyone know I’m all right. So that’s all this is.”<\/p>\n

Logano has received an outpour of support. “You look great man! Appreciate you being open and honest with everyone even though you have no obligation to!” one said.<\/p>\n

“We don’t think the world is ready for the a– whooping bald Joey Logano is going to unleash on the field next year.”<\/p>\n

Logano hasn’t always been NASCAR fans’ favorite either \u2014 something he embraces \u2014 but fans have dropped their gripes. “Joey, you are and have always been my absolute least favorite driver, but I gotta say I\u2019ve got a lot of respect for the bald choice,” another tweeted.<\/p>\n

“Championship level look. Let\u2019s go!” a third remarked. “I hope it doesn’t make you faster on the track, or we are going to have issues.
