Canadian tennis star Bianca Andreescu didn\u2019t have the cleanest victory of her career on Sunday.<\/p>\n
Facing off in Montreal in an opening round matchup in the National Bank Open, the 25-year-old was well on her way to beating Barbora Krejcikova in straight sets.<\/p>\n

No time has yet been set for the match, though Canadians have traditionally been given centre-court night matches on their home soil.<\/p>\n How has Andreescu\u2019s career looked recently?<\/p>\n Since winning the US Open Singles title in 2019 as an 18-year-old, Andreescu has dealt with a rash of injuries over the last six years, including a knee problem that caused her to miss much of the 2020 season. Ranked No. 4 in the world at her peak, she has slipped all the way down to No. 118 in the world as she\u2019s struggled to put together consistent stretches of good tennis.<\/p>\n Andreescu did not address reporters after the match on Sunday. Before the tournament began, however, Andreescu did address her lengthy injury history<\/a> and how it has affected her mindset over the years.<\/p>\n \u201cYeah, I\u2019ve dealt with many things to put me off of the sport. So, that\u2019s always very difficult to deal with, right?
